Trauma
I have a particular interest in working with women that suffer from sexual trauma.
I find the work meaningful and healing, and I particularly want to support women in raising awareness on how to take care of themselves. I am always honored to be trusted with this work.
Generally, trauma is a complex condition. It can present itself after a serious episode of violence, assault or abuse, but it can also refer to childhood trauma.
Patients can also present with more complex trauma, of repetitive episodes of painful experiences, such as chronic abuse.
Psychotherapy is crucial in recovering from trauma and the shame that often accompanies it.
The relationship with the therapist is crucial because it provides the patient with a safe place. It is creative and gentle work, that requires respect and care.
