Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the thinking that supports our behavior. Cognitive Therapy is employed in treatment to help clients recognize and change thinking patterns that are harmful or ineffective. CBT recognizes that people’s emotional reactions and behaviors are influenced by cognition. CBT also considers behavior as crucial in maintaining or in changing psychological states.
I offer CBT as an integrated approach, which is inclusive and supports the client to find their inner ‘authority’. The CBT approach is therefore shaped by therapist and client rather than being dictated by any one system. I support the client to look at their presenting issue or problem as interactions between thoughts, emotions, behaviour and physiology.
