During the initial consultation we will discuss what prompted you to seek therapy. We will explore what you would like to gain from therapy. The practitioner will suggest a possible way of working together which would be shaped by client and therapist in the following sessions. You will get a chance to ask questions and share any concerns.
Individual therapy usually takes place once a week at the same time and place. It can be either: • short term – usually 6 to 12 sessions – more structured and focused on solving the identified problem or situation or • long term – lasting for a several months and sometimes even a few years.
